The 79th Cannes Film Festival kicked off in the French Riviera resort city of Cannes, running from May 12 to 23, 2026. The festival features a fierce competition among 22 international films vying for the prestigious Palme d’Or award , with South Korean director Park Chan-wook presiding over the jury.
